Valeriy is a 13-year-old in 7th grade. While he is open and sincere with people he trusts, Valeriy tends to be a loner. His family situation is particularly difficult because his mother’s rights were terminated and his father is not capable of taking care of him. Valeriy is particularly attached to his father and would like to live with him again. However, his father is not currently making an effort to make Valeriy’s hope a reality. The Vasiliev family lives in southern Ukraine, and has 7 adopted children. Their oldest child is Victoria, who spent her childhood with poor, alcoholic biologic parents. Every day she would visit a Christian soup kitchen to get the one meal she could depend on. It was at this soup kitchen that she met Mrs. Vasiliev, who would one day become her mother. When Victoria was 12, her biologic mother died and her biologic father immediately placed her in an orphanage. Elena and her support system through You Will Be Found prayed often for this difficult situation. Now, her daughter is grown, lives on her own, and has a child.
