We thank God that, little by little, changes are taking place at the government level. For decades the government has believed that orphanages are the best places for children with no parents to care for them. Christians in the former Soviet Union have been praying diligently for a change in this position. Ukrainian churches focused these prayers on November 3, 2011, the all-Ukraine day of prayer for orphan children. After this special day of united prayer, one government official completely changed his attitude. Fourteen-year-old Olga loves photography, dancing and playing guitar. She is also a good cook. Her dream is to become professional choreographer. There is a very slight chance for her to be reunited with her biological father. Please pray that the Lord would provide either an adoptive or biological family who can love and care for Olga....May 22, 2012
Alena, a friendly 8-year-old, enjoys school and reads and writes well. She likes to memorize poetry and recite the verses. She is very good at playing games. In the summer of 2011 Alena’s dream came true -- she was adopted by Ukrainian family. They can’t imagine now how they lived without each other before and are so happy! Please join us in praying for Olexandr, a 14-year-old 7th grader who has dealt with much pain and loss in his young life. Even so, he is described as a communicative and kind boy. He loves to play checkers, ride bikes and roller skate, and also plays soccer on a local team. He wants very much to be adopted; let's pray with him for a forever family....May 08, 2012
Eight-year-old Yaryk loves bike riding and playing with his toys, but he had difficulty learning in the regular public school system. Providentially, he is now part of a homeschool program that includes individual study. He is much better suited to this style of learning -- he can now read and count. Praise God with us that Yaryk is in the process of being adopted and by summer 2012 will be part of a loving, forever family....May 01, 2012
