We are so excited to report that International Leadership and Development Center (ILDC) has been invited to Kyrgyzstan to train workers of the Ministry of Social Security! For the past 2 years, ILDC has been a part of developing the Case Worker Core program. This program consists of workshops that include sessions on understanding a family-centered model of child protective services, family-caseworker relationships, legal issues, assessment, investigative processes, case planning, child development, and separation, placement and reunification of families. Once the program is completed, case workers are qualified to train others involved in child welfare such as other case workers, NGO staff, adoptive/foster families, etc.
The 3 week training session that will take place in Kyrgyzstan is particularly significant. Other countries are beginning to notice the effective practices that are being developed in Ukraine to tackle the massive issue of child welfare and orphan care. Not only are they looking to Ukraine for guidance, they are seeking to implement their own unique methods in ways relevant to their own cultural situations. We are confident this is the way the orphan crisis will be resolved... by initiatives that already exist on the ground, and supplemented by our support and prayers.
ILDC is one of our partners in the Home for Every Orphan alliance. We continue to be blown away at how rapidly positive changes are being made in the countries of the former Soviet Union. Join us in praying form this strategic trip to Kyrgystan, and thank the Lord with us for this incredible opened door!
